Vision For The Future
The importance of maintaining your eye health and cherishing your eyesight cannot be overstated. Many people who suffer from ocular diseases regret taking their eyesight for granted. Here in Florida, we offer diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular diseases, which impact the human eyes and the visual system. Here is some information about the most common ocular diseases we see in our patients.
Pink Eye
Conjunctivitis, also called pink eye, refers to the infection or inflammation of the transparent membrane lining the eyelid. This transparent membrane also covers the “whites” of your eyeball. Viral or bacterial infection usually causes pink eye. However, allergic reactions can also cause pink eye. While many patients find pink eye irritating, this condition rarely has an impact on the vision. We offer treatments that can help decrease the discomfort and irritation associated with pink eye.
Styes & Chalazia
Styes and chalazia are both two common ocular diseases that impact the eyelids. A chalazion occurs from the blockage of at least one of the meibomian glands, which are responsible for producing oil, found in the upper and lower eyelids. Styes are often mistaken for chalazia. Styes are abscesses or infections of the eyelid gland, near an eyelash follicle or root.
Dry Eye
Dry eye usually occurs due to the natural aging process of the eyes. However, environmental and health factors can also cause dry eye. While dry eye cannot be cured, some treatments can reduce the sensitivity of the eyes and ensure the health of the eyes and vision. Here at Advanced Surgical Mobile Eye Care, we can work with you to keep your eyes and vision healthy while reducing the discomfort caused by dry eyes.
