Ophthalmic Technician – Ocala/Gainsville

We are Advanced Surgical Mobile Eye Care and we are seeking full-time ophthalmic technicians. We are a successful 25-year-old company in practicing optometry by traveling to local nursing homes in all these areas of Florida – Daytona, Jacksonville, Ocala, Gainesville, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Lakeland, Orlando, and Sarasota.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Experience in ophthalmic testing and equipment (visual acuity, tonometry, refraction, etc.)
2. A passion for patient care and working in a mobile, fast-paced environment
3. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
5. Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician (COA or COT) preferred but not required

Other Pertinent Details:

1. Full-scope practice looking for an Ophthalmic technician who can treat the elderly population
2. On average 20-25 patients daily with most exams being medical, short, and brief
3. Locate patients, perform preliminaries, and fit glasses.
4. Working with an experienced ophthalmologist or optometrist as a team
5. All portable optometric equipment is provided and you will be trained
6. We reimburse mileage per day and offer lodging for areas that are 100+ miles away.
7. There are no weekends. Your M-F work schedule on most days is much shorter than 8 hours.
